We are asking the Rutherford School District to:
- Reduce individual device screen time district-wide.
- Strengthen web filtering, access controls, and family-friendly Chromebook management safety tools.
- Create a pathway for families to opt out of devices coming home.
- Phase out the 1:1 Chromebook curriculum in elementary school (6th grade and under).
We are asking this as partners of the teachers and administrators who show up every day for our children. A growing body of research shows it’s time to reduce screen time in schools. If you are a Rutherford parent, caregiver, or community member who wants to show that you agree with a screen time reduction in education, sign the pledge today.
I am pledging that as a parent of a Rutherford public school child I would like the Rutherford school district to reduce individual device screen time district-wide, phase out the 1:1 Chromebook curriculum in elementary school (6th grade and under), create a pathway for families to opt out of devices coming home and strengthen web filtering, access controls, and family-friendly Chromebook management safety tools.
